Today feels weird
You know that moment you look at your child and say “I don’t remember what life was like before you”… in that sense since Tadhg’s Birthday is tomorrow, today doesn’t exist.
Nightmare or Closure?
Just woke up from a dream where I confronted members of my family. Everyone on my mother’s side of the family has turned their back on me since moving here to Kansas, save my Ma. All of the key players were at my childhood house. The fact that each person that I’ve wanted to say something to was there is surprising cause my dreams aren’t normally that organized. On the eve of...

Over the weekend my friend Dan Manning received a death threat taped to the door of his home in Wichita, KS.

This is the job I signed up for
Babysitter has a sore throat told her to stay far from here, if I can’t kiss my son in three days I’m gonna freak out. Jen is exhausted. My back and legs are really sore from over doing it yesterday. Llew has a bug and is crapping her pants out and crying from her sore bottom.

Missed TopCity Thursday
Because I just weed whacked on my own two feet tonight. Exhausted. Only did around the driveway and it took me an hour. Most physical activity I’ve done in over a month. My arms are jello. My legs are a good sore. My face is smiling.

Late Start Today
So I guess walking in a shoe for the first time in a month really wears your ass out. I just woke up a short time ago. I slept 12 hours. Which is crazy for me.
I wore my boot yesterday for the first 4 hours and to the Sunrise Optimist meeting then decided to try wearing a shoe and for some reason I ate like a horse all day. I guess I’m getting energy back and burned even more while using...

How to pronounce he who is coming in 10 days
Tadhg is from the Irish language. The “adh” is a diphthong that is pronounced like the “i” in the English word “Tiger”. The name is pronounced as if pronouncing “Tiger” and dropping the “r”.

Goodnight Don
It was a packed house today.
There were Soldiers and Seamen in uniform. There were County Sheriffs and Highway Patrolmen in their blues. According to a friend everyone in the city of Topeka Public Works was there but an eight man skeleton crew.
The Knights of Columbus stood guard.
Prayers. The choir sang. Presentation of the flag. Grown men wept. Babies slept.
And I’m small....
Your World Is Still Spinning
I’m sitting on my back deck with some coffee as cars file past on Green Hills Road directly in front of me and head to their daily grinds as some cars pull into Mother Teresa Church next door, to my left. The people on Green Hills are heading to their everyday. The people at church are preparing for Don’s funeral and his last day above the green grass.
You get up, start your routine....
